Using Feeds but Still Getting Visitors

0 Comments 23 February 2010

When you allow visitors to subscribe to a feed such as Twitter, Google Buzz, Email, or anything else that will send your blog post to your subscribers when you make one, what is going to make them go to your site. If they can get all that they could get from your blog by logging on to Twitter, then why would they go to your blog? That’s right, they wouldn’t, and you need visitors to come to your blog if you want to get paid by ads. So you should just stop letting them to subscribe to a feed, right? Wrong! Here is a solution that allows you to have them subscribe to your news feed but still visit your blog.

What you should do is have your feed only post the main idea of your blog post in the news feed and then a hyperlink that says something like “See the full post here!”. This way, they will get the post, and if they like what the post is about then they will click on the link. This will get them to visit your site more.

Here’s a little idea, if you are doing a paid review you could charge extra if you have the full post as the feed post. The person paying you will want you to do this so the subscribers will see all about their product without having to click the link. Doing this might make your blog/feed look a little less professional though. That is the only problem.
