Do you ever wonder how long your blog posts should be while blogging? Sometimes you’ll be typing and then when you’re finished you think ‘Is this long enough? Should I make it longer?’. Well, most of the time you shouldn’t.

When you are blogging, you shouldn’t add more to the post just to make it longer if it is too short. Only do this if you are going to add more information. The average person usually only stays on a blog for about 90 seconds. This means that you don’t want the post too incredibly long. Then again, if your post is only a few sentences long, it probably doesn’t give enough information to where the reader would actually learn something.

Write everything you want to cover, and stop there. Don’t keep going to make it longer. The more useless information in a blog post, the more useless the blog post is.

Here are my top ten reasons why blogging is better than the everyday job.

You can do it on your own time
Whenever you want you can just get on the computer and start writing. If you don’t feel like writing at a certain time, you don’t have to. In your regular job, you don’t get to pick when you work.

You are your own boss
No more people bossing you around. You don’t have to listen to anyone anymore. The only one that can tell you what to do is you and you alone. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow other blog’s tips though.

It can be done by sitting and typing on a computer
You don’t have to carry things from one room to another. You don’t have to talk to anybody. You don’t have to cook any food. All you have to do is sit at your computer and move your hands. That’s all you have to do physically anyways.

You can talk about what you want to talk about
You ge the joy of blogging about what YOU want to blog about. You can enjoy sharing whats on YOUR mind.

For once in a while people actually listen to you
You don’t just get ignored. People comment and talk to you. People actually listen to you. You can finally get your voice heard.

You can do it as often as you want
If you love blogging and want to do it as much as you want, then you can. If you only want to write on your blog once a month, than you can. You can do whatever you want. You have to work a certain amount of time with your everyday job.

You can make your blog look like you want it to
You have the joy of making your blog look like you want. You can make it any template you want. It’s your choice, nobody elses.

You never have to leave home
That’s right. You can sit on your lazy bum all day and just be on the computer. You don’t have to drive to work. Work is right there in front of you.

Anyone can do it
It doesn’t matter who you are. A 90 year old who is looking for a retirement job, or a 20 year old looking for some extra cash while in college. You could even be a 30 year old who blogs as his primary job, a professional blogger.

It makes great money
You can really make a lot of money blogging. It depends how much time you put into it. If you only want to make a little money, you only have to put a little time into it. If you want to make a lot of money, then unfortunately you are going to have to put a lot of time into it.

If you aren’t blogging, you probably don’t believe in it. You think “I couldn’t make money doing that”. Well guess what, you’re wrong. It doesn’t matter who you are, you can make money blogging.

So I came up with a list of all the ways that you can make money online that are as easy as blogging. Here is the list.

Nothing

Nothing

And unfortunately, nothing

Yup, unfortunately, there are no other ways to make money as easy as blogging. And I know, blogging takes a lot of time to start making money , but it is worth it. I had spent a long time searching for ways to make money on the internet, but had always just ignored the “Blogging” way. I thought it was too hard and I could never do it, and there was no way you could actually make money. I tried those survey sites, and believe me, none of them work at all. I tried everything, except blogging. I found someone who was into blogging, and he told me he actually made good money on it. So then, after giving up trying to make money online, I decided to start blogging.

It turns out, surprisingly, you actually can make money by blogging. It’s also something enjoyable, as it is done on a computer at your own time. You don’t have to listen to any boss, you are your own boss. So if you know anything about computers, but you don’t blog, then obviously you are like I was before I started blogging.

When you allow visitors to subscribe to a feed such as Twitter, Google Buzz, Email, or anything else that will send your blog post to your subscribers when you make one, what is going to make them go to your site. If they can get all that they could get from your blog by logging on to Twitter, then why would they go to your blog? That’s right, they wouldn’t, and you need visitors to come to your blog if you want to get paid by ads. So you should just stop letting them to subscribe to a feed, right? Wrong! Here is a solution that allows you to have them subscribe to your news feed but still visit your blog.

What you should do is have your feed only post the main idea of your blog post in the news feed and then a hyperlink that says something like “See the full post here!”. This way, they will get the post, and if they like what the post is about then they will click on the link. This will get them to visit your site more.

Here’s a little idea, if you are doing a paid review you could charge extra if you have the full post as the feed post. The person paying you will want you to do this so the subscribers will see all about their product without having to click the link. Doing this might make your blog/feed look a little less professional though. That is the only problem.

Sometimes when you are blogging, you can think of so many ideas but you do not have enough time to post all of them. But on the other hand, some times you have so much time but you can’t think of any ideas of what to post. Here’s what you should do when either of those happen to you.

When you don’t have much time, but you can think of a lot of ideas, you should create drafts. You should just create a new post, type in the topic name and the main idea, then save it as a draft. Do this for all the ideas you have but don’t want to post right away. Eventually you should have a bunch of drafts that have just the main idea of what the post is going to be about.

If you do what I said above, then next time you can’t think of any ideas to post, just go to “Edit” under “Posts” and find your drafts. Open a draft and just finish the post. Now you won’t have to think of any ideas to post, because you already have them.

This paragraph is for if you use WordPress. If you can think of a bunch of ideas, and have the time to write them, but already posted an article, don’t make a draft. Here’s what you should do. You should make the post, write the whole thing. Then, you should click the “Edit” in the “Publish immediately Edit” on the right (right above the blue publish button) and change the time to the next time you want your blog to be updated. Then, you can just click the “Schedule” button. This way, the next time you want your blog to be updated, you don’t have to update it. It will automatically update for you.
