Well, it’s been almost six months we started this 86blogger blog, and sadly there was not page rank update throughout the time, finally Google has woken up and has given us PR2. This is not a great number, because according to Google. Rank 10 is better than rank 1. So we are better than the worst.

Should page Rank matter?

Honestly, it matters to advertisers as higher PR gives an impression to your blog, but Google is getting mean day by day. The purpose of PR was to differentiate between good WebPages from bad WebPages. But it seems like many website get pr 3 pr 4 without any hard work and sites like US, (86blogger.Com) gains only 2 positions.

Anyways, few of my other blogs also got some upgrades. But at this point of time, we really don’t want to celebrate.

Thanks for reading.

So if you are going to post on your blog and it’s going to be a post because you want to post, then it would be better off not to post. Unless it is going to be a good quality post then it shouldn’t be a post at all. This is going to make your blog look worse if you have bad posts. Remember this one rule while blogging, quality before quantity. One good post can get as many views as a bunch of bad posts, if not more.

If someone were to look at your blog and get there by a bad post, they probably won’t check the rest of it out. If they were to get there by a good post, there’s a good chance they’ll check it out. If all the other posts are bad, or most of them, then they’ll just leave. If all the other ones are good, then you most likely gained a blog viewer.

Is your blog not showing up when you search for it on Google? Can you not find it when you search on Yahoo? Well here’s a way to make it.

First off, I will start with telling you how search engines like Google and Yahoo work. Google will send out a whole bunch of “Crawlers”. What these crawlers will do is go to websites, then go to every single link it can find on that web page. It is going to add all of those pages onto the index, then visit every link on all of those pages and add them as well. This is going to keep happening and happening until it can’t find any more links. This is why Google’s index is so large.

So, how you are going to get Google to “crawl” your link? Well, first of all you are going to want to find a page that you can change in any way that shows up when you search for something like it on Google. This could just be a comment, although you are going try to have it stay there for as long as possible. You are going to want to get as many pages that show up on Google to link to your website. For example, I am going to make this web page link to my site Countdown to 11/11/11 11:11:11. Now, this is going to increase my pagerank on the Countdown to 11 website. You should do something like that for your website. Then, once you do that, you are going to want to add “Meta Tags”. By doing that you will add this (the stuff in italics) to your web page.

<head>

<title>Your site title</title>

<meta name=”description” content=”Your site description.”>

<meta name=”keywords” content=Keywords you want on your site (Separated by commas)”>

</head>

This is going to increase your pagerank based on how relative your site is. Also, this stuff is going to show up when you search for your site on Google.

In case you didn’t know, pagerank is what tells how high on the search engine your page will be. How many links on sites go to your site and Meta tags tell your page rank.

Now, if you did everything I told you, your website should show up on Google in a month or so. Another way to add it (And doing what is above will increase the pagerank even if you add it this way) is to go to http://www.google.com/addurl.html and submit it. Your site may not get put up that way though, but it might.

PS: By the way, feel free to visit “Countdown to 11/11/11 11:11:11!”. It’s a pointless website though.

When you allow visitors to subscribe to a feed such as Twitter, Google Buzz, Email, or anything else that will send your blog post to your subscribers when you make one, what is going to make them go to your site. If they can get all that they could get from your blog by logging on to Twitter, then why would they go to your blog? That’s right, they wouldn’t, and you need visitors to come to your blog if you want to get paid by ads. So you should just stop letting them to subscribe to a feed, right? Wrong! Here is a solution that allows you to have them subscribe to your news feed but still visit your blog.

What you should do is have your feed only post the main idea of your blog post in the news feed and then a hyperlink that says something like “See the full post here!”. This way, they will get the post, and if they like what the post is about then they will click on the link. This will get them to visit your site more.

Here’s a little idea, if you are doing a paid review you could charge extra if you have the full post as the feed post. The person paying you will want you to do this so the subscribers will see all about their product without having to click the link. Doing this might make your blog/feed look a little less professional though. That is the only problem.

Sometimes when you are blogging, you can think of so many ideas but you do not have enough time to post all of them. But on the other hand, some times you have so much time but you can’t think of any ideas of what to post. Here’s what you should do when either of those happen to you.

When you don’t have much time, but you can think of a lot of ideas, you should create drafts. You should just create a new post, type in the topic name and the main idea, then save it as a draft. Do this for all the ideas you have but don’t want to post right away. Eventually you should have a bunch of drafts that have just the main idea of what the post is going to be about.

If you do what I said above, then next time you can’t think of any ideas to post, just go to “Edit” under “Posts” and find your drafts. Open a draft and just finish the post. Now you won’t have to think of any ideas to post, because you already have them.

This paragraph is for if you use WordPress. If you can think of a bunch of ideas, and have the time to write them, but already posted an article, don’t make a draft. Here’s what you should do. You should make the post, write the whole thing. Then, you should click the “Edit” in the “Publish immediately Edit” on the right (right above the blue publish button) and change the time to the next time you want your blog to be updated. Then, you can just click the “Schedule” button. This way, the next time you want your blog to be updated, you don’t have to update it. It will automatically update for you.

Hi, first off let me introduce myself. I am Shawn Corrigan, an 86 Blogger. Before this, I have only made one post – “Few Ideas What to Blog About”. Some of you may have seen that post. Well I am going to be taking this blog over. I will be updating it instead of Asif Ahmed. If you want, you can still contact Asif Ahmed with any questions you have. His email address is asiogroup@gmail.com.

I will try to update the blog once a day, but don’t get mad at me if I miss a day every once in a while. The blog topic will still say the same, so still keep visiting the blog. The topic of the stuff I write about may broaden a little bit, but I promise not to go too off topic. Also, the way I write will be a little bit different than the way Asif Ahmed used to write.

Now I’m going to be straight up honest, I myself am not a big fan of people who hold huge checks up for blogging advertising that you can make hundreds of dollars easily by blogging. No, this doesn’t mean I don’t beleive that you can make hundreds of dollars by blogging. This just means that I think they make it way too easy looking. To make money by blogging, it’s going to take a lot of time. But I have to say, the money you make is quite worth the time it takes.

If you have any questions you can contact me at Shawn86Blogger@gmail.com. I hope to hear feedback from you, and thanks for visiting my blog!

Hi, this is just an announcement for the readers of @86blogger. From now on I’ll be following your links from the comment section.

Yes, I made them do follow now. By commenting on my blog, you will be getting a link back to your own blog looking at the great year ahead. Link love is very important in the growth of a blog, so I am returning you the favors of commenting on my blog by sending you some link juice.

How To Follow Links

Just one thing, you will have to download a plugin called ‘Follow My Links’ and activate it.

Download

You can download Follow My Links from the WordPress Plugin Directory.

As I am giving my juice to you, this will affect my blogs also. It’s fair enough to share some link love people who add value to a discussion.

A link back to a blogger is a precious as diamond to a women. So, I invite you to take part in the discussion.
