Do you ever wonder how long your blog posts should be while blogging? Sometimes you’ll be typing and then when you’re finished you think ‘Is this long enough? Should I make it longer?’. Well, most of the time you shouldn’t.

When you are blogging, you shouldn’t add more to the post just to make it longer if it is too short. Only do this if you are going to add more information. The average person usually only stays on a blog for about 90 seconds. This means that you don’t want the post too incredibly long. Then again, if your post is only a few sentences long, it probably doesn’t give enough information to where the reader would actually learn something.

Write everything you want to cover, and stop there. Don’t keep going to make it longer. The more useless information in a blog post, the more useless the blog post is.

Here are my top ten reasons why blogging is better than the everyday job.

You can do it on your own time
Whenever you want you can just get on the computer and start writing. If you don’t feel like writing at a certain time, you don’t have to. In your regular job, you don’t get to pick when you work.

You are your own boss
No more people bossing you around. You don’t have to listen to anyone anymore. The only one that can tell you what to do is you and you alone. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow other blog’s tips though.

It can be done by sitting and typing on a computer
You don’t have to carry things from one room to another. You don’t have to talk to anybody. You don’t have to cook any food. All you have to do is sit at your computer and move your hands. That’s all you have to do physically anyways.

You can talk about what you want to talk about
You ge the joy of blogging about what YOU want to blog about. You can enjoy sharing whats on YOUR mind.

For once in a while people actually listen to you
You don’t just get ignored. People comment and talk to you. People actually listen to you. You can finally get your voice heard.

You can do it as often as you want
If you love blogging and want to do it as much as you want, then you can. If you only want to write on your blog once a month, than you can. You can do whatever you want. You have to work a certain amount of time with your everyday job.

You can make your blog look like you want it to
You have the joy of making your blog look like you want. You can make it any template you want. It’s your choice, nobody elses.

You never have to leave home
That’s right. You can sit on your lazy bum all day and just be on the computer. You don’t have to drive to work. Work is right there in front of you.

Anyone can do it
It doesn’t matter who you are. A 90 year old who is looking for a retirement job, or a 20 year old looking for some extra cash while in college. You could even be a 30 year old who blogs as his primary job, a professional blogger.

It makes great money
You can really make a lot of money blogging. It depends how much time you put into it. If you only want to make a little money, you only have to put a little time into it. If you want to make a lot of money, then unfortunately you are going to have to put a lot of time into it.

If you aren’t blogging, you probably don’t believe in it. You think “I couldn’t make money doing that”. Well guess what, you’re wrong. It doesn’t matter who you are, you can make money blogging.

So I came up with a list of all the ways that you can make money online that are as easy as blogging. Here is the list.

Nothing

Nothing

And unfortunately, nothing

Yup, unfortunately, there are no other ways to make money as easy as blogging. And I know, blogging takes a lot of time to start making money , but it is worth it. I had spent a long time searching for ways to make money on the internet, but had always just ignored the “Blogging” way. I thought it was too hard and I could never do it, and there was no way you could actually make money. I tried those survey sites, and believe me, none of them work at all. I tried everything, except blogging. I found someone who was into blogging, and he told me he actually made good money on it. So then, after giving up trying to make money online, I decided to start blogging.

It turns out, surprisingly, you actually can make money by blogging. It’s also something enjoyable, as it is done on a computer at your own time. You don’t have to listen to any boss, you are your own boss. So if you know anything about computers, but you don’t blog, then obviously you are like I was before I started blogging.

A lot of people ask me how often they should update their blog. I don’t have much to tell them, because how often you update your blog depends on you and how much you want to update your blog. Some people like to update it one a week, some once a day. Some people say once a week isn’t generating enough posts to get enough unique visitors per day, some people say posting once a day is giving too much information to your blog viewers and they can’t remember it all. I personally like to update my blog once a day, but that is so I get as many unique visits as I can. Whether it be a short blog post or a long blog post, I’m going to update my blog once a day.

How often YOU update YOUR blog depends all on you. When deciding this, take in consideration things in your personal life, and things of that such. You never want your personal life to keep you from blogging as much as you plan on blogging.

You should always keep your blog on a scheduled posting. This means, if you were to post it once a week you should post it on the same day every week. You might even want to go as far as to same time each week. Especially if you update your blog daily, then you should try to post every post about the same time every day.

If you need a domain name for your blog, but don’t want to spend too much money, here’s a good idea.

You should use Godaddy. You can get .com domains for as low as 10.69 a year and even cheaper with a coupon. Search on Google for “godaddy coupon” and I’m pretty sure you can get one for about 7.50 a year with a coupon. Then, if you create a new account, you can get free hosting. This will come with an ad, but I will show you how to get rid of the ad later. Go find your free hosting credit and use it for your blog website. Make your site, then upload it just as you would with any blog.

Now, to get rid of the ad at the top, you are going to want to go to 50webs. Create a website and get free hosting. Then, change your nameserver settings at Godaddy to dns1.50webs.com and dns2.50webs.com. Then, you have to type in your domain at 50webs. Once you do this, it will usually take about a few hours, but the ad at the top will go away. If you need any more help with this, you can contact me at shawn86blogger@gmail.com

For people who use WordPress, this applies to you. If you are someone who updates their blog on a scheduled timer, like once a day, twice a week, or anything like that, well what happens when you go on vacation? What if your power goes out for a couple of days unexpectedly? Well here’s a way to protect yourself from that happening. You should write all your posts a few days in advance. How many days, that’s up to you. When you write them, go to the right side of the page and find something that says “Publish immediately Edit” Click on the underlined blue ‘Edit’ and change it to the day you want it to be posted. You should have everything written in advance, so it will automatically post it at the time you tell it to. This way, if any emergency happens without you expecting it to, your blog can still update by itself.

If you are going to be gone for a while, like a week, you can still keep your blog updated regularly. If you want it to post once a day while you are gone, all you have to do is write 7 articles and have them post automatically while you are gone. This way when you go on vacations, your blog viewers will still get updated.

If you have a scheduled update, but an event so important that you have to update your blog immediately happens. You can schedule all your posts for a day later and post about that event on the day. All you have to do is go look at your posts and edit the publish time. An example for when you would do this would be if Microsoft came out with this software that helps you blog and you thought was just simply amazing and you had to post about it. While all the other blogs are telling their blog readers about it the second it comes out, you don’t want to tell your blog readers a few days later.

There is a very good ebook I have read from some blogger named Daniel Scocco. I thought I’d write a review about it and suggest it to all my blog viewers.

This ebook is a pretty book on how to make a lot of money blogging. It’s one of the best ones I’ve read so far. It says how to start blogging, what to use to blog, what kind of ads you use, how to get advertisers on your blog, all about monetizing your blog, and a lot of more stuff. I can almost guarantee that if you follow every tip he gives on that blog, you’ll be more successful than most of the bloggers you know.

The thing I agree most with in his ebook is when he states that you can not make money easily blogging, but like any other successful money making businesses, it takes time. Yet again, it is worth the money you are making. If it were not worth the money you make, you wouldn’t be reading this post right now.

The only thing I don’t like about the ebook is that he says that when you just start blogging, you can start out using a free domain such as blogger.com or wordpress.com. I think that if you are starting, and you are really serious about making money blogging, then you should buy a domain name. You can get them for pretty cheap online, and it definitely is going to help your blog start up way more than if you were to use a free domain service.

So I say you should go to Make Money Blogging, subscribe to the newsletter, download the ebook, and follow everything it says. You can definitely become a very successful blogger. Or if you already are a blogger, this ebook can make you even a more successful blogger.

If you are wondering what to blog about on your blog, here are some tips.
You should blog about things people want to hear. Think to yourself, ‘what are some things I would like to hear about’. Those are the kind of things you should write about. This could be, weight loss, money making, coolest new phones, best online deals, etc…
So there are a few things that affect what you should write about. First of all – the time of year. For example, near New Years/Christmas, you are going to want to write about new year/Christmas related stuff such as, holiday recipes, how to keep your new year’s resolution, best gift ideas, etc… Near Easter write about Easter related stuff, near April Fools Day, write about pranks, and so on.
The second thing you should consider is recent events. For example, when the hurricane hit Haiti, you could write about the best relief groups and if you donate to each one, where your money is going, and just anything related to the hurricane in Haiti.
The third thing you should consider is what your blog is about. For example, this blog is about blogging, so I am going to write things blogging related. If you’re blog was about cooking recipes, you wouldn’t want to talk about how Facebook is changing, or about online scams. You should have one general topic and stick with it. You could have a technology blog, food blog, video game blog, religious blog, and so on.
Now that you know what to blog about, start blogging. Remember, come back here often for more tips on a successful blogging website.
